Hi all!

My name is Shaun Cook and I'm new here!  I hope it's okay to post something like this.  I teach chemistry at El Camino Community college in Southern California.  I'm also currently working on my EdD at Pepperdine University.  This has been a crazy time with the movement to online learning and making chemistry courses go remote.  In one of my courses, we're looking at online learning communities and how they interact.  I'm kind of curious how others are doing!  How did you end up adapting to teaching online?  Are you still there?  Heading back anytime soon?  I'd love to hear how folks have been handling going back as I'm trying to work on a lab prep boot camp as we're scheduled to head back in the fall.

Hope everyone is safe and healthy!

Hi Shaun,

For sure this comment is welcome here. And thanks for checking us out. A lot of these types of conversations are taking place on our Discord server (https://www.ionicviper.org/blog-entry/slither-viperpit) which I would encourage you to take a look at.

The quick summary is that there is all kinds of teaching going on. Some of us are totally remote, some are in person and some are in some reality between those two extremes. Many schools are starting to have conversations about the fall, and from the sounds of things, I don't think everyone will be back to 'normal'. Trying times indeed.

There are several virtual lab experiments here that you can find here :https://www.ionicviper.org/collection/virtual-inorganic-lab-experiments….

We're a great community and I am sure lots of people would love to chat with you on the Discord.
