Dear Colleagues,

I would like to alert you to a symposium that will be part of the INOR offerings at the Fall 2015 ACS meeting in Boston.  The title is "Building Innovative Solid State Materials Through Solution Chemistry" and it will bring together researchers who use aqueous or other solution chemistries to prepare crystals or nanomaterials.  This may encompass work in hydrothermal synthesis, biomineralization, exfoliation, and use of unconventional solvents.  The invited speakers include Kate Plass (Franklin and Marshall), Josh Goldberger (Ohio State), Joanna Aizenberg (Harvard), Hanno zur Loye (South Carolina), and Richard Robinson (Cornell).

I would like to encourage you or your students to submit an abstract.  We will have two oral sessions and a poster session, and we would be happy to include high quality undergraduate research.  I am co-organizing this with Alex Norquist (Haverford) and Jamie Neilson (Colorado State).

The deadline is coming up quickly -- March 16.

Best,

Catherine
