I am just starting teaching our 2nd semester Advanced Inorganic chemistry Course.  Essentially, the only information I received from my predecessor is that we use Miessler and teach chapters 10,11, 12,13, and 14.  I have the slides from the publisher.  Students have all had P.Chem. and the first semester Chapters 1-9 and are mostly seniors.

I am look for some learning objectives or goals.  Also, since we believe some of the students have the solution manual, I will be looking for a source for exam topics and questions.

My background is in P.Chem and General Chemistry.  I have never taught Inorganic before other than through Gen Chem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Larry - You came to the right place! If you do a search on Tarr you will get about 4 pages to sort through. If you then select syllabus in the LO type column and hit apply it will narrow things down to about 15 syllabi posted on the site from people that use the same book you have. That should give you a little guidance. If you aren't on our Discord server I suggest you check it out (info is towards the top on the home page). People will be glad to help you out.

Hi Lary,

You may also want to reach out to Les Manner at BYU Idaho.  He has developed a whole course worth of inquiry based activities for a senior level inorganic course.
