At this point I feel like any time you can say the final _____ of 2020, it is a cause for celebration. And the fact that the final SLiThEr of this year is #13 seems incredibly appropriate.

Our next event will be Thursday, November 19th at 4pm eastern (GMT-4). We have a wonderful topic and host lined up for this SLiThEr, Meghan Porter from Indiana University will be presenting on "Convincing non-chemistry students that lab is worth it: A chemistry lab course built around scientific communication." This discussion will touch on the science communication focus/assignments, specifications grading, and (just because of the current state of things) running a 100-person inorganic lab with a f2f component during covid. After the presentation, a time for discussion with all live participants is sure to provide many learning opportunities. The SLiThEr will be recorded and made available with all the other SLiThEr events on our YouTube channel after the event.
