It looks like we may have lost another useful online teaching resource. Robert Lancashire had pages at University of West Indies, Mona (http://wwwchem.uwimona.edu.jm/courses/CFT_Orbs.html) that included interactive JSmol visualizations of the relative orientation of d-orbital with ligands in various geometries. It was simple, effective, and very clear, and I've been using it for longer than I can remember, but it seems to have been taken offline. Does anybody know if it's just been ported to a new link?
If not, then George Lisensky's reimplementation of a Flick Coleman resource at Beloit College (https://chem.beloit.edu/classes/structure/ligandfield.html) serves much the same purpose, and for a wider array of ligand geometries, but I preferred Lancashire's because it had the orbital splitting diagrams next to the interactive JSmol structure, so you could visually map the amount of ligand-orbital interaction onto the qualitative orbital energies.
If anyone else that used the UWI Mona site knows if it's migrated someplace, or has plans to reimplement it, let us know! (Steve, maybe you could reimplement it. Sigh. Yes. I'd have to reteach myself how to generate and implement orbital isosurfaces in JSmol, which I would rather not.)
Some of Lancashire’s work has been saved on SourceForge (see link below) but that page has not been saved.

I wonder if George Lisensky would be willing to add that feature…
