As chemists hone their teaching craft, it is not uncommon for research interests to broaden to include research related to teaching and learning. Getting started in education research is challenging though – it’s an entirely different focus with a lot of confusing terms. This discussion will focus on detangling the various scholarly fields that focus on teaching and learning and will provide a space to ask questions and learn more about how to get started in this disciplinary context.
