The PhET Project at CU-Boulder (http://phet.colorado.edu) is seeking applicants for a chemistry education post-doc position focusing on the design, integration, and study of PhET simulations for College Chemistry at the introductory / general chemistry level. I've been working on this project for the last year and a half, and it's really cool!
I have 3 students (2 males and 1 female) that I am trying to bring to the 2013 spring ACS National Meeting in New Orleans.
Are there any students out there that would be interested in sharing hotel rooms with my students in order to save money?

Hi All. We have a tenure-track position in inorganic chemistry that will begin in the fall of 2013. I would appreciate it if you would circulate this as widely as possible among former students, colleagues around the world, and anyone else you feel might be appropriate for the position. Needless to say I believe it is a great position - it has kept me interested and engaged for 32 of my 43 years as a faculty member, but I will be retiring, at least officially, at the end of the 2012-13 academic year.

I got a conference invitation to present my work at the 3rd "world congress of Catalytic Asymmetric Synthesis" in Beijing this spring. I was intrigued and excited to present, but I have to admit, even from the first email, red flags were going up. The very first email I got from them said something like they hadn't heard from me after their initial email a few days ago. I put together an abstract and got on the program and was happily planning my trip to China.
I am writing to announce a symposium at BCCE that may be of interest to VIPERs or other department members. The Biennial Conference on Chemical Education will be held at Penn State from July 29-August 2, 2012. I am organizing a symposium entitled, “Innovative Foundation Courses to Meet the New CPT Guidelines.” If you are doing something novel or different at the foundation level I’d encourage you to submit an abstract.
