We are searching at Hamilton College for a tenure-track physical chemist at the Assistant Professor level to start July 2014. Many inorganic chemists double as physical chemists and vice versa so I thought our position might be of interest here.
Dear Colleague,
I am writing you to call your attention to a planned symposia entitled "Developing Inorganic Curriculum at the Undergraduate Level" at upcoming the 247th National Meeting of the American Chemical Society in Dallas, TX March 16-20 2014 .
A former supervisor of mine, Polly Arnold (Edinburgh), is launching a short film and book about women in science. Details can be found at: http://chemicalimbalance.co.uk/
I thought it would be useful to have a thread gethering resources that might be of interest to students and faculty looking to begin conversations about diversity and underrepresentation of various groups within their departments.
I will need an adjunct professor to teach a Foundations of Inorganic Chemistry lab in the Spring 2014 semester, Mondays 1-5 pm. If you live nearby, and are interested, please let me know. Hofstra Universty, Hempstead, NY
Hi Viper,
I know many of you are aware of this (many of schools have recently received this lectureship), but I thought i would just post this up here.
I think its great that the The Camille & Henry Dreyfus Foundation has this lectureship, it seems like a great way to bring in researchers from premier research institutions to interact with undergraduates at primarily undergraduate institutions. The deadline is coming up on May 20th.
Looks like its been used in the past to bring out people like Dan Nocera, Robert Grubbs, and Roald Hoffman.
Hello Ionic Viper members,
The 2013 CENTC Summer School has been announced. I went as a grad student to the 2010 one, and would go this year but I will probably be busy moving from my postdoc to my new job.
Here's the website:

According to the website:
Sabbatical Replacement Faculty Position at Harvey Mudd College. The Chemistry Department invites applications for a one-year visiting position for the 2013-2014 academic year. The successful candidate will teach general chemistry, general chemistry laboratory, and an advanced course in their area of specialty. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to involve students in original research. Excellent facilities for teaching and research are available, including state-of-the-art instrumentation (see www.chem.hmc.edu). A Ph.D.
This is a great opportunity for undergrad research. For full disclosure, I wasn't a part of CENTC when I was in graduate school, but I saw many parts of it and I think it would be a great group of poeple to work with. My PhD advisor is a part of it. They also have multiple locations.

Here's the details on the applications, which are due in February.
