Hello Ionic Viper members,
The 2013 CENTC Summer School has been announced. I went as a grad student to the 2010 one, and would go this year but I will probably be busy moving from my postdoc to my new job.
Here's the website:

According to the website:
File this one under "if it's too good to be true, its probably too good to be true."
I got a conference invitation to present my work at the 3rd "world congress of Catalytic Asymmetric Synthesis" in Beijing this spring. I was intrigued and excited to present, but I have to admit, even from the first email, red flags were going up. The very first email I got from them said something like they hadn't heard from me after their initial email a few days ago. I put together an abstract and got on the program and was happily planning my trip to China.
The Zing Coordination Chemistry Conference is Dec 9-13, 2011. Debbie Crans, one of the organizers, is a strong supporter of undergraduate research and would like to give a/some speaking spots to faculty from PUIs, as well as having posters from undergraduates. If this interests you, you should contact Debbie. Tell her you heard about it from IONiC!

Dear Colleague,
The Inorganic Discussion Weekend is a fantastic opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to present their research in a colleagial environment. IDW is held every year at the end of October and rotates among universities in Ontario and Quebec. This year, the conference will be hosted by the University of Windsor, making it even more accessible to students and faculty in the Midwestern U.S.
